Mayra Sánchez was born and raised in Mexico City. From 2003-2007 she went to Liceo Franco Mexicano high school. She moved to Queretaro in 2008 to pursue a B.S. in Technology. She came back to Mexico City in 2012 and she worked as a French Teacher. Finally she joined the research group on December 2014 to resume her studies. Currently, she is working on the synthesis of PCPs for CO2 adsorption. After graduation, she would like to pursue a Ph.D in Chemistry. (She loves chocolate, coffee and hates strawberries.)

In her free time, Mayra enjoys reading, and dancing. She would like to continue learning languages and travel around the world.
