Elí Sánchez González

Elí Sánchez González was born in 1987 in Michoacán, México. He received his B.Sc. degree in chemistry from the UNAM (2010) with Prof. Alejandro Baeza Reyes, they received the “Cátedra Especial Alfonso Caso” for his thesis. After receiving his B.Sc. degree he continued working in the total microscale analytical chemistry and electrochemistry until 2011. Then he started as analyst in a water and wastewater analysis laboratory, where he remained chief of the chemical analysis laboratory until he returned school.From 2013 to 2015, he joined the laboratory of Dr. Jorge Balmaseda Era at Instituto de Investigaciones en Materiales (UNAM) and worked in porous coordination polymers synthesis, obtaining his M.Sc. degree (with honors).

He did his PhD at UNAM in the Dr. Ibarra's research group, following his research in porous coordination polymers synthesis and their application as CO2 sequestering agents. Then, he obtained his PhD degree in Chemical sciences in October 2019.

Now he is doing postdoctoral studies at the Institute for Integrated Cell-Material Sciences (WPI-iCeMS) of Kyoto University, his work is focused on Metal-organic cages (MOCs) applications.

In his free time Elí enjoys indie music, binge-watching TV series, go out to dance and chew the fat.
