J. Gabriel Flores Aguilar was born and raised in Mexico City. He obtained his B. Sc. degree in Chemistry from FES Cuautitlán, UNAM in 2014. He worked in the Molecular Sieves Group of the Institute of Catalysis and Petrochemistry of Madrid for six months in 2017. He received his M.Sc. degree in Environmental Science and Engineering from UAM Azcapotzalco and he joined the research group on May 2018 to start his PhD.

Currently his research is focused on greener synthesis and applications in heterogeneous catalysis of MOFs.

In his free time, Gabriel likes to read comics and mythology books, take wildlife photos, try to play the keyboard and play chess.
