Mónica Sagastuy

Monica was born in Mexico City in 1995. She attended the Modern American School there for her primary and secondary studies. In 2014, she started studying Chemical Engineering in the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), with the idea of eventually working or developing something environment-related.

By August 2017, she started her thesis project at UNAM in the Dr. Ibarra's research group, researching the adsorption of CO2 and other toxic/corrosive gases in MOFs (or PCPs). Then, she obtained her BsC degree in Engeeniering Chemical in November 2019.


In October 2020 she began her master's studies in Energy Systems at Oxford University.


In her spare time, she enjoys writing, playing music, as well as watching or practicing different sports.
