FACILITIES

The Materials Research Institute (IIM-UNAM) has an important number of laboratories and facilities, which can be used by all the member of this institute. Perhaps, some of the most important general laboratories are:

X-ray diffraction laboratory

X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy laboratory.

Microscope laboratory (SEM, TEM, FIB and AFM)

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance laboratory (solids, liquids and gels)

Thermal analysis laboratory (TGA, DTA, DSC and TMA)

Mechanical test laboratory, among others

Apart from these general laboratories, LaFReS is located at the building E, laboratories L-E-101 and L-E-102 of the IIM-UNAM, and we have the following facilities:

2 thermogravimetric analysis (TGA; Q500HR and Q550, from TA Instruments, both adapted to digital gas mixers)

1 water vapor thermogravimetric analysis (TGA; Q5000SA, from TA Instruments)

1 temperature programmed equipment (TPX; Belcat B from Bel-Japan)

1 catalytic reactor (Belrea, from Bel-Japan) adapted to a gas chromatograph (GC 2014, from Shimadzu)

1 catalytic reactor adapted to a mass spectroscopy (Catlab, from Hiden)

2 infrared spectroscopy equipments with ATR, transmittance and gas cells (Alpha, from Bruker)

1 differential scanning calorimetry (DSC, from Instruments Specialists)

1 high temperature membrane permeation equipment (homemade) adapted to a gas chromatograph (GC 2014, from Shimadzu)

1 gas chromatograph with mass spectroscopy (GCMS-PQ2010, from Shimadzu)
