Objective: The students will learn the basic concepts and the principles of experimental techniques that are used to evaluate the mechanical response of soft biopolymers and biological tissue.
Biomateriales, Ingeniería en sistemas biomédicos
Objective: The student will be able to identify and analyze the characteristics, composition, structure, functional behavior, and degradation mechanisms of the various tissues that constitute the human body. Based on this understanding, the student will acquire the knowledge necessary to select, define, and design biomaterials—including polymers, ceramics, metals, and composite materials—that can be used either to replace damaged or diseased tissues or to provide structural and functional support for natural tissues in biomedical applications.
