Microbiology; bacterial biofilms

Research Aim: Brandon is a program leader of the Man, Biomaterials, and Microbes program within the Kolff Institute which facilitates translational application of biomaterials into patients.  Brandon’s group focuses on bacterial attachment mechanisms to biomaterials and how bacteria adapt to their surroundings as a means for survival.  Learning how bacteria adapt to their surroundings is key to combat bacterial infections of biomaterials without the need for antibiotics.
