Bio
Dr. Yareli Rojas-Aguirre received her BSc. in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Chemistry in 2005 from Chemistry School at The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). After 2 years working at the pharmaceutical industry, she started the MSc. Program (graduated in 2009) and then got her PhD degree in Chemistry in the year 2013, both from School of Chemistry at UNAM.
In the same year, she joined the Cellular Engineering and Nanotherapeutics Laboratory, Biomedical Engineering Department, at the University of Michigan, USA, as a postdoctoral research fellow (2013-2014).
She started her career as young researcher at the School of Chemistry. Afterwards, she worked at the Institute for Applied Sciences and Technology (ICAT, UNAM) to investigate additive manufacturing technologies (3D printing) for the fabrication of biomedical devices (2016-2017).
In October 2017, she joined IIM, where she is currently working on the design and synthesis of supramolecular materials and the study of their interactions at biological interfaces to:


Yareli loves tropical seashores, swimming and diving. She also loves hiking, travelling and learning about different cultures through people, food, drinks, dancing, literature, movies, etc.
