Dr. Heriberto Pfeiffer

Investigador Titular C

I am a Professor of the Instituto de Investigaciones en Materiales from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, at Mexico City.

I work on different sorption and catalytic processes for energetic and environmental applications. My research has been focused on the acid gases capture (COx, NOx and SOx) processes and their possible conversion to added value products. Moreover, in the last years, I have gotten involved on different catalytic processes, such as reforming of organic molecules, CO oxidation-capture processes as a possible syngas separation and H2 production-enrichment from other chemical mechanisms (mainly biomass pyrolysis).

Additionally, I am interested in high temperature dense membranes for CO2 separation, biodiesel production and glycerol conversion to added value products. All of them using different basic heterogeneous catalysts. Finally, I work with different lithium and sodium ceramics of possible utilization as cathodes within the alkaline battery systems.
