I am a Professor of the Instituto de Investigaciones en Materiales from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, at Mexico City.

I work on different sorption and catalytic processes for energetic and environmental applications. My research has been focused on the acid gases capture (CO_x, NO_x and SO_x) processes and their possible conversion to added value products. Moreover, in the last years, I have gotten involved on different catalytic processes, such as reforming of organic molecules, CO oxidation-capture processes as a possible syngas separation and H2 production-enrichment from other chemical mechanisms (mainly biomass pyrolysis).

Additionally, I am interested in high temperature dense membranes for CO₂ separation, biodiesel production and glycerol conversion to added value products. All of them using different basic heterogeneous catalysts. Finally, I work with different lithium and sodium ceramics of possible utilization as cathodes within the alkaline battery systems.
